Become a Better Diver

Learning from the right instructor will not only show you what it takes to take good photos, but how to control your body and camera in the water. This helps you practice skills that go with you for a lifetime.

  • Good buoyancy is key for creating steady shots and protecting marine life. Part of being a good underwater photographer is mastering this skill. As a PADI Divemaster and NAUI Assistant instructor, Joe understands how to teach buoyancy control, particularly when using a camera.
  • Safety is key to having fun. This applies to both scuba divers and snorkelers. When using a camera in the water, we sometimes overlook important aspects because we are focused on getting on a good photo or excited by a rare encounter. A good instructor will remind you about these aspects so you become more aware of your surroundings and potential hazards.
